Deborah, thanks for welcoming us home — we miss the adventures that go along with the blogs 🙂 But we’ll have more adventures in store, I’m sure. Angela, you’re right — at least it didn’t ruin our mood for the entire trip! Kirk, definitely try couchsurfing — it can lead to very fun and unique experiences! And Karim, welcome to the site, and very cool that we share the same surname.

When I went to Spain, my friend got her purse stolen on the very first day. Full of cash, all her credit cards and passport. Just to avoid us going to the police to report the loss, they gave us back the purse with only the passport inside.
Southern Spain is sadly famous for the high number of pickpockets. Being Italian, and having lived in Rome for 7 years (during which I got robbed twice), I’m now extra careful. In Spain I guessed it was like in Italy, so professional robbers, while I’ve never felt this pressure in Dublin, London, nor Shanghai.
